We currently have the following opportunity available - please contact us for more details!The Installation Engineer is responsible for the installation and upgrading of Elekta’s Treatment Delivery Solutions at customer sites.

The primary geographic area will be in in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa region with opportunities to perform installations in other countries.

All work is assigned to the engineer by the Installation Manager according to the project schedule. Once at the customers site the engineer is expected to manage and coordinate all activities associated with the assigned project including liaison with the Local Engineers, Distributor Management, Project Management, hospital physicists and technicians, site contractors and relevant departments within Elekta.

Technically, the work involves a very diverse skill set including fault finding complex electronic systems down to board / component level, HT and RF power generation, vacuum systems, water systems, pressurized gas systems, mechanical assembly and adjustment of the radiation beam to achieve the required output specification.

As the engineers are expected to manage their own environment at a remote location, there is a need to be able to demonstrate competence in all of these key areas.

All work is to be carried out in accordance with Elekta’s safety instructions and procedures. Any issues or problems that may adversely affect the project, its ongoing reliability or the safety of any personnel must be reported to the Installation Manager.

Training and assessments are carried out both in classrooms and on site as necessary. Engineers will not be deemed to be competent to install a product until the Installation Manager together with the Installation Governance Team has confirmed that the relevant competences and skill have been achieved.

Engineers with the relevant knowledge and experience will be expected to guide and assess other engineers on site and advise the Installation Manager and Installation Governance team accordingly.

Upon completion of any work on site, the engineer is required to hand the site over to the local Service organisation, complete and submit the relevant reports according to QA procedures.

When not on site, the engineer is to complete other tasks as directed by the Installation Manager.Responsibilities Install, without supervision, all systems within the product portfolio to the required specification and quality within the project time-scales.

Possess excellent knowledge and proven skills in electronics, PCs and servers, networking, high vacuum, high / low voltage & current, diagnostic equipment and a general knowledge of all engineering disciplinesFault find at board level and belowOperate always in accordance with the Elekta quality system and complete the administration requirements of the role in a timely and accurate mannerHave the ability to manage own workload and be highly motivated, dynamic, have good leadership skills and be a good problem solverTo have proven site management skills, strong customer focus and have excellent customer service skillsEnsure that all customers are provided with high quality service and attention throughout the installation process, so that each customer is fully satisfied with the support they receive from ElektaEngender and support Elekta valuesRepresent Elekta in a professional and positive mannerTo follow at all times Elekta’s quality and safety policiesPrepared to work as required at times and locations dictated by the needs of Elekta and the customerProvide feedback to the Installation Manager regarding any issues, solutions or opportunities which may need to be communicated to other parts of the organisationIdentify and implement improvements that enhances the customer’s satisfaction with ElektaMaintain an up to date knowledge of all Elekta products in the portfolioRelevant Knowledge, skills and competencies Employees must be competent in verbal and written English language as a minimum

  • Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline or relevant work experienceExperience of installing or servicing complicated capital equipmentBiomedical experience and / or technical knowledge of radiotherapy equipment in the field or a hospital setting would be desirableExcellent Communication and mentoring skills to deal with challenges presented by culture and languageEffective time and resource management.
  • Must be quality orientated in all tasksProven ability to manage own environment and complete the tasks deployed to them.Engineering skills : electrical, electronic fault finding, plumbing, vacuum, radiation, physicsCompetent with relevant IT technology including Windows OS, MS Office Applications, networking and control applications.

    Demonstrates drive and commitment to Elekta and the tasks in hand.Ability to travel up to 75% of the yearClean Driving LicenseCurrent PassportFull time
