Job Description :
The successful candidate will be involved in the operation, maintenance and upgrade of the Spectromicroscopy beamline and experimental station in order to meet the requirements of a broad user community.
He / she will collaborate with the Spectromicroscopy beamline staff and the users of the beamline in order to accomplish the program.
User support and participation in the experiments is expected.
A Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline is required, together with proven experience in the following techniques : (i) photoemission spectromicroscopy with scanning photoemission microscopes (SPEM), (ii) angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and (iii) ultra high vacuum and surface science techniques.
Previous documented research in the field of electronic structure of 2D-materials will be an asset.
Good time management skills and ability to prioritize are expected, together with the ability to interact with staff and facility users at all levels and to work as part of a multi-
disciplinary team. Good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
The deadline for the submission of application is December 5th, 2018. The appointment envisioned is a fixed term contract of 12 months duration.
The salary will be commensurate with previous experience and qualifications of the candidate.
