Team Overview and Job responsibilities

We are looking for a Network Components Engineer who will design accessories for land and submarine cables, he / her will be part of the Engineering team based in the HQ in Milan.

The team works in contact with the Livorno production plant.

Who are we looking for :

The candidate will :

  • Define products, edit Bill of Materials and prepare assembly drawings and instructions for land and submarine accessories.
  • Identify technical solutions to either a given problem or a market opportunity.
  • Conduct engineering projects on new design such as components, equipment and systems.
  • Edit technical documents and provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Assess and improve the variable cost of products.
  • Support Quality Dept. in identifying technical solutions to given issues and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with Operations, R&D and other organizations for the execution of projects and activities.
  • Assess Technical risk of design change management.
  • Coordinate and manage suppliers with Procurement Organization.
  • Key requirements :

  • Technology (Product, machinery and manufacturing process).
  • Materials (metallurgy, compounds, thermal ratings).
  • Engineering and innovation.
  • Design to Cost.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Planning and project management skills.
  • Persistence and ability to influence others.
  • Positive attitude to lead and motivate the team.

  • Standardization
  • Good knowledge of 3D software drawing (Inventor AutoCAD - SolidWorks).
  • SAP (appreciated)
  • Fluent English.
  • Technical Bachelor Degree.Experience in the cable / accessories industry or in an Engineering organization would be appreciated (at least 3 years)
