We are currently looking to appoint a

Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial Europe (m / f / x)

to be based in our commercial affiliate in Milan.

The Senior Counsel manages all legal matters of CSL Behring EU affiliates in particular regarding competition, contract, procurement, advertising, employment and social security (reimbursement) law.

The incumbent provides legal advice to clients of Commercial Operations One Europe functions within the CSL Behring One Europe organization, mainly in the areas of Pharmaceutical Law, Contract Law and Procurement Law, Competition Law and Social Security (Reimbursement) Law.

The Senior Counsel will work closely with Compliance on legal advice required for compliance matters, such as anti-bribery, anti-trust and data protection.

The position holder is responsible for selecting, managing and supervising all necessary contact with external legal counsels.

He / She also provides support to the Head of Legal Operations Commercial One Europe as needed.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Provides comprehensive legal support and strategic counsel for Commercial Operations
  • Stays informed and advises management on legal, regulatory, healthcare and compliance issues, working with external experts as needed
  • Reviews, drafts, and negotiates agreements
  • Ensures business processes and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Develops and delivers training on legal matters
  • Directs contract strategy and legal support and advertising, promotional, and communications campaigns provides strategic counsel on drug regulatory, GxP and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participates in, manages and implements group initiatives and projects
  • Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. or equivalent foreign degree
  • Bar admission in relevant region or permission to practice in-house
  • 8+ years' legal experience
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry
  • Strong negotiating and drafting skills, communication and stakeholder influencing skills, business acumen and judgment
  • Special knowledge in Contract, Unfair Competition, Social Security and Pharmaceutical Law related compliance aspects is a plus
  • Proficient command of English is required
