Purpose of the role
Collaborate with the acquisition of projects pipelines from third party developers and manage and supervise the development of such projects through to Financial Close
Duties and responsibilities
Manage a pipeline of projects from Exclusivity through to FC.
Identify, pursue and develop new business opportunities together with third parties (developers)
Run financial models and using price indicators to negotiate commercial terms which meet Lightsource bps margin requirements.
Lead on the coordination of our internal departmental resource(s) : planning, technical, legal, grid, and delivery in order to successfully develop projects in a timely manner.
Be prepared to support all Business Development activities to further negotiations on land rights, deeds, permits, DNO offers, planning and PPA where required.
Communicate effectively with DNO’s, TSO’s, PPA clients and LSBP’s internal specialist teams.
Represent Lightsource bp at community and company events, conveying our business and development acumen in a professional manner.
To regularly update and provide clear forecasting of project cashflows in line with budget forecasts.
Present projects for internal risk-review evaluations and submit formal requests for budget approval to fully develop projects from the Investment Committee.
To understand and enforce company strategies and develop best business practices accordingly.
Prepare financial model to assess the returns of the project and draft non-binding offers
Essential to have prior experience in business development the solar PV industry in Italy, coming ideally from an engineering firm or a project developer
Hands on experience in developing pv projects in Italy : grid applications, land identification and negotiations, environmental permitting, administrative authorisations, etc.
Solid understanding of environmental constraints and legal documentation review and negotiations
Familiarity with project financing processes
Fluent in Italian and English

Education and Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related discipline
Postgraduate degree in related discipline
