Eurotech, a global company leader in AI on the Edge and producer of liquid-cooled embedded high-performance computers that enable the next generation autonomous systems, is seeking a skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic hardware design engineer to join its core engineering team.
The hardware design engineer will be responsible for the design of high-performance systems to be used in rugged environments.
The candidate’s assignments will include design of the electronic circuits, PCB layout supervision and review, board bring-up, troubleshooting, system integration and validation.
This highly technical role requires attention to detail and excellent communication skills. It involves working across the full product development lifecycle from feasibility and requirements gathering through to production release, maintenance and End-Of-Life.
The engineer will also play a support role for operations and customers.

Architecture, design, test, and verification of hardware for high performance computing systems
Technical leadership and / or project management of design projects
Design of complex embedded electronic boards, including high speed 64-bit Intel and ARM processors
Generation and maintenance of technical engineering files within a quality management system, from initial specification to release and beyond
Mentoring and technical supervision of other engineering staff, and support for operations
Creation and protection of intellectual property
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Electronics or a related discipline
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in hardware design engineering
Proven experience of high-performance microprocessor design
Demonstrably high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
Self-motivated and proactive team player
Excellent written and spoken English
Expert knowledge of high-speed, data centre class, computer system architectures
Expert knowledge and hand-on experience with the design of systems employing PCI Express Gen 3 and above, NVMe, SATA 3, and high speed networking standards
Experience with designs based on Intel Xeon SP family, NVidia GPGPU, and AMD EPYC family
Design to meet thermal constraints; Experience with liquid cooled systems is a strong plus
Design for Manufacturability
Recent hands-on experience with high speed PCB design techniques and constraint management
Knowledge of programmable logic design is a plus
Integration of wireless connectivity into embedded products, including WiFi and Cellular modules
Knowledge and experience of design for regulatory approval, especially CE, FCC, RED, rail certifications
Application of RoHS3, WEEE and REACH to current and new designs
Hands-on experience with electronic design tools, especially Mentor (OrcadOrCAD, DxDesigner, PADS)
Experience with signal integrity and power integrity simulation tools like Keysight ADS is a strong plus
Experience with interpreting the results from thermal simulation tools like FlowTHERM is a plus
Good knowledge of power conversion design
Proven ability to deliver under pressure of tight deadlines
