Performance Achievements & Key Competence Requirements
Maintain the Quality Standard of PPG Industries and promote the understanding of the Quality Goals throughout the organisation.
Implement / maintain a L ocal Q uality Management S ystem according to recognized standards such as ISO / TS 16949 or equivalent.
Ensure correct procedures to meet standard requirements and respond to all matters of certification of the management system.
Create / maintain the professional image necessary for vendors, subordinates, peers and superiors to fully understand the Quality requirements needed to successfully supply our Customers in the Automotive Coatings Industry.
Plan / deliver a Quality Training Program in alignment with the European BPI and Quality training programs. Provide professional quality training to all departments to achieve Operational Excellence by maintaining effectiveness and improving techniques in technical and administrative matters.
Evaluate, install, monitor and sustain changes when required for testing, procedures and equipment at the critical control points to ensure the consistency of products and services.
Manage and assist in business-wide Problem Solving to ensure quality manufacture & supply of products and services in order to meet Customer requirements and assure conformity with the standardised and required quality principles and procedures.
Assure evaluation of quality cost. Lead Problem Solving Team activities based on Customer complaints and ensure correct use of the CAIR system to track & report non-conformities.
Fulfil role of central contact-point for Quality issues related to Quattordio supply ensuring effective communication to associates and timely resolution of non-conformities.
Maintain / support the role of Country BPI Leader.
Plan / deliver an Auditing Program to cover external Suppliers, internal performance (specifically the Crater Prevention Program) and site Customer visits.
Caivano : Maintain support and mentoring link to the Quality function to ensure best practices are shared and quality improvement initiatives are deployed.
Technical knowledge :
Good chemical background, formulations, operation process, lab equipment, physical and chemical knowledge, preferably an engineering degree.
Quality principles, Problem Solving techniques, Training methods, statistics.
Education as an approved Quality Manager and internal Auditor.
Knowledge of Lean and Sigma principles, preferably LSA Catalyst
