Establish expertise in DM through understanding the business and technical requirements, supply base, market trends and underlying factors that drive product cost, quality and reliability.
Manage effectively strategy and actions planned to create the cost efficiency of the assigned commodity yearly spent. Consequently, develop and implement effective commodity and supply base management processes to maximize coordination and leverage to ensure delivery of materials at lowest total cost.
Capitalize on market dynamics through understanding suppliers’ business models, capabilities, trends in technology and relevant market indices.
Negotiate agreements that mitigate risk, achieve supply continuity and meet business demands at the lowest total cost.
Work closely with R&D, Quality and Process Engineering to identify and qualify new resins and alternate sources to achieve Sealed Air’s cost savings and cash flow goals while maintaining / enhancing product quality and performance.
Support monthly EMEA DM forecasting across facilities and lead communication with suppliers resolving any service concerns
Support EMEA resin transition planning as sourcing changes are qualified and volumes moved among suppliers
Manage suppliers to high performance standards through regular vendor evaluation meetings.
Support internal supply chain, business unit and sales stakeholders by providing in autonomy proper information, useful data and report about market evolutions and cost reduction programs.
Degree in Economics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, preferred, with at least 3 to 5 years of relevant business experience in the packaging or plastics industry in a Sales / Marketing, Technical or Procurement capacity.
Proven negotiation skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment that fosters aggressive and effective approaches to sourcing materials.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, with additional languages a plus.
Previous experience in managing people is a plus
Familiar in the usage of Windows Office and SAP.
