Essential Responsibilities

  • Achieve lowest possible cost for material, balanced against optimum quality and
  • schedule needs

  • Solicit and evaluate proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price
  • analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizations;
  • implement purchase contracts following applicable company and government


  • Evaluate current and anticipated requirements, determine potential sources, obtain
  • bids, and plan programs to meet business needs

  • Coordinate with procurement for activities related to the assigned commodities
  • Responsible for assigned commodities to meet the requirements of the business,
  • implementing commodity category strategies

  • Perform continual market analysis and monitor supplier progress
  • Coordinate, help direct, as well as perform, all required functions from initiation of
  • an intent to purchase through to satisfactory delivery of material or services

  • Assure, supported by Sourcing Procurement organization, that material / services
  • will be delivered on schedule, at negotiated price and meet required quality standards Initiate necessary action to assure best value is received, customer delivery

    requirements are met, and address any manufacturing problems at supplier’s facility

    Role Summary / Purpose

    The Buyer in General Machining & Farmout Commodity negotiates with selected suppliers according to specific policies and commodity strategies, to achieve the best

    contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction. In this role you will required to use your experience to solve the problems, execute objectives and effect short-term and long-term business goals in a complex environment.

    This is a fixed term position, due to the temporary replacement for a maternity leave.

    Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or a high school diploma
  • Ability to build strong business relationships / partnerships
  • Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Cross functional experience working with production, engineering, quality & administrative departments
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills
  • Fluent in English and Italian
  • EU work permit
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Avio Aero products
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitude
  • Team working attitude
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • IT literate with experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Outlook
  • SAP knowledge
