The role of the Proposal Engineer is to ensure that the assigned proposals are completed and issued within the deadline, planning the needed activities, coordinating the proposal team, and collecting all the different informations with the aim to prepare a commercial offer document.
Responsibilities and Duties
For each new business opportunity, the candidate has to perform an analysis of the offer request and the offer risks assessment in relation to the company strategy and annual planning.
He will contribute to select resources in order to build the most suitable proposal team.
The candidate will perform a synthesis of all needed information to manage the BID / No-BID process
The candidate will identify the approach that suits the offer request best, considering requests of the prospects, the company portfolio, the company capabilities, and the company products strategy in the medium and long term.
The candidate has the responsibility to quantify the offer with the support of Company department such as Engineering, Operation and Quality department, in terms of costs, investments, time, and resources.
He will coordinate the preparation of the tender response with the necessary documents, managing technical and commercial aspects and issuing the Commercial offer with document package annexed.
The candidate has to represent the Point of Contacts for the prospects of the assigned proposals.
He will be part of the order booking forecasts release and tracking
The role implies to be in contact with the proposal Business Development Manager and with the various Company functions specifically involved for each proposal.
Qualification and Skills
Masterâ€™s degree in Aeronautics and Space Engineering, Computer Science Engineering or similar disciplines
Project Management orientation, with an Objective-Oriented and Decision-making mindset
Understanding of System Requirements
Understanding of Design, Development, Production and Support activities
Precision and meticulousness
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Availability for Business travels (no relocate)
Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of English Language, both in writing / reading documentation and in speaking / listening at B2 level
Proven experience in a Proposal, Program Management or project manager role
Experience in Defence Companies
Understanding of Inertial Navigation Systems
Know-how of standards, compliance rules and Export regulations represent a (e.g. MIL and DO Standards, Dual Use regulations, ITAR)
Knowledge of English Language, both in writing / reading documentation and in speaking / listening at C1 level or greater
