Within the Manufacturing Planning Department, the Buyer / Planner will be responsible for planning and procurement of production materials ensuring its availability to support the production schedule.
Key areas also include increasing materials inventory turns without disruption to the supply process, continuous improvement of responsible areas and support activities related to SAP system maintenance to ensure MRP update.
Plan and execute procurement of components and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers. Ensure that raw material and packaging components are available on time to support requirements through purchase order creation, management and escalation (when needed)
Maintain strong working relationships and communications with key suppliers to confirm production / shipping schedules
Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems
Analyze MRP action messages to ensure raw materials and packaging components are available in the right time and quantities to support production plan
Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule / inventory changes
Anticipate and communicate any material shortages immediately
Implement and coordinate best practice inventory planning and replenishment of all manufacturing components. Manage inventory levels to avoid any obsolescence and report slow moving items to the Planning Manager
Establish processes and leverage systems to efficiently plan & procure in a growth oriented environment
Ensure optimal Inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times
Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options
Follow up with suppliers on required documentation (i.e. : CofA, CofC, purchase specs, etc)
Provide and maintain forecast to the supply base
Periodic update of procedures related to production and materials planning process
Provide materials projection for strategic planning and development
MSC or equivalent degree
At least 2 years of experience in a similar function
Strong multitasking skills, well organized and good communication skills at all level
Good English level (written and spoken)
SAP (MRP) knowledge is a plus
