Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to assist the site team in the management of the Contract with specific focus on potential contractual issues with erection subcontractors which may jeopardize the achievement of Project’s objectives.
Typical areas of involvement will be the request of contract changes, contractual management of delays and associated possible claims and contractual issues.
The Contract Manager will report to the Project Director.
The role, based at the construction site in Marl (Germany), will suit an experienced Contracts Manager with a proven record of at least 8 / 10 years of experience in the position.
Be well informed of the development of the Project and the status of Contract Changes for the Project under execution.
S / He will attend periodic project reviews to be informed of the project status at all times
Provide the necessary support to Project Director to conveniently document the actions or activities that contractually require it
Monitor and keep record of project correspondences (in / out from / to) Subcontractors and Client
Prepare and keep updated a log-sheet summarizing Wood’s, Client's and Subcontractors’ contractual obligations with associated timing under applicable contracts
Prepare the draft of the letters to be sent / responded to the Client
Prepare the draft of the letters to be sent / responded to Subcontractors
Actively participate, in coordination with relevant Project specialists, in meetings with Subcontractors
Provide support to the Project Director by preparing presentations and providing back up information until the resolution of any claim and / or Contract Changes
Provide support to the Project Director in managing the claims received from Subcontractors
Skills / Qualifications
BSc in a technical discipline
Minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant working experience in equivalent functions
Must have handled contract administration work for major projects
Proven knowledge and expertise in contractual management, particularly on contract changes and claims, etc.
Excellent command of English both spoken and written at a negotiation level
Knowledge of German language will be considered a plus
Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a desire to win
