Provide Dover Operating Companies with information and knowledge as to suppliers' capabilities toward partnership in R&D and product development.
Drive and support the corporate category managers in transforming Operating Companies and corporate personnel from transactional procurement to a true Strategic Sourcing practice.
This individual is key in identifying and driving implementations of sustainable cost reductions, quality / total cost of ownership, supplier rationalization, flawless supplier launches, and other key procurement and sourcing strategies across DOVER.
Job description : The position is geographically centered in Europe / focusing on supply base of Central-Eastern Europe, but requires global coordination among colleagues and Global Sourcing peers, Operating Companies personnel, and executive management teams.
Define and manage the suppliers’ Key performance indicators, and based on supplier scorecards and rankings, facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations driving the Zero Defect mentality within the supply base Lead the qualification and ultimately the implementation process, helping Operating Companies in their transitions of supply to Central / Eastern Europe, and assure seamless implementations occur.
Address any potential or future quality processes and supplier performance and bridge the relationship between Central / Eastern European supplier and assumed non-
Central / Eastern Europe Operating Company personnel Drive on a sustaining and CI basis, a regular cadence of highly structured Supplier Business Reviews (SBRs) which address contract compliance, supplier performance measurement and tracking, and ultimately growth of supplier contributions to Dover's businesses Provide leadership across Dover in driving Value Creation and Value Engineering activities from the region's key supplier and Dover's Category Manager's perspectives.
Within their assigned territory, the individual will provide leadership across Dover in identifying and reporting elements of risk in the supply base, and providing a comprehensive and Dover-
consistent Risk Management program across the enterprise. Required profile : Education, Work Experience, Certification and / or Licensure : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Supply Chain from an accredited university.
5+ years’ of relevant work experience as a Supplier Development Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer and project management.
Previous experience within manufacturing as an Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or directly related engineering role focused on process improvement is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Experience in Value analysis (VA) / value engineering (VE) training, target costing experience, continuous improvement, lean or Six-
Sigma training, design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA) experience, program management training, estimating background or experience.
Thorough understanding of Process Controls, FMEA, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke (Six Sigma green belt and ISO internal auditor preferred).
Adept in using all the equipment’s such as CMM, Profile projector, and basic measuring instruments and gauges. Strong understanding of the concepts of Continuous Improvement, PPAP Studies / Validation processes and related methods.
Outstanding communication skills. Experience making and giving presentations to senior management of target suppliers as well as Dover senior management.
Activity & knowledge in strategically planning for, & managing, all interactions with third party organizations that supply goods to maximize the value of those interactions including both domestic & best value country (BVC) sources.
Familiarity with product cost estimation as well as understanding the impact of design and manufacturing has on product cost.
Some common processes include plastics molding (injection, extrusion, compression, roto), casting (sand, investment, die), machining, fabrication, sheet metal, etc.
