We are looking for a HSE Specialist to join our Motion business in Motors & Generators, located in Vittuone.

The selected candidate will contribute to improve Health & Safety (OHS) performance in the respective organization to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture.

He / she will support the business by applying indepth OHS knowledge to offer solutions and advice and facilitate delivery of support from the CoE and ensure effective risk management through excellence along ABB’s value chain.

Your responsibilities

  • Metrics reports safety incidents : feed back on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across the company to management and employees;
  • regulatory compliance : implement policies and standards. Ensure that the area of responsibility is audited according to program for audit.

    Assist line managers and supervisors in understanding obligations, liability and how to fulfil their roles, according to local health, safety and environment (HSE) law and ABB Group policy, instructions and standards.

  • Risk management : facilitate safety risks assessment by line management involving shop floor employees, i.e. those directly concerned by the hazards, and ensure that all the processes are implemented.
  • Continuous improvement : drive behavioral change through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture.
  • Communication and engagement : engage external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB's safety efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback.
  • Cooperate with other functions, the CoE and business partners to drive safety performance.

  • Operational support : ensure appropriate safety equipment and tools are available and used; identify, plan and initiate training need, e.
  • g. for employees, site managers, and agree with, and ensures delivery of training from the CoE. Ensure implementation of safety objectives and plans, incident investigations and root cause analysis in respective organization.

    Drive and ensure compliance with Group management systems.

  • Project management : contribute to and / or plans and execute safety related projects; develop and report on project objectives;
  • manage project resources such as manpower, financials and other relevant factors.

    Your background

  • Bachelor / master degree in HSE Engineering, ambiental engineering will be taken in consideration as well;
  • Fluent Italian and English;
  • Good knowledge of Office Suite, above all Excel and database.
