Organisation : Weir Minerals Europe is part of the Weir Group PLC, the business has been established for over 150 years and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of pumps, valves, cyclones, vibrating screen machines, crushers and other associated equipment for the mining and minerals processing industries Business Need / Purpose of Role : Weir Minerals Italy require a Service Engineer to support existing key customers to develop the external service activities in Italy.
This is a field based role and will be required to travel to client sites carrying out planned and preventive maintenance on pumps as well as reactive maintenance and commissioning.
It will be expected of the Mobile Service Engineer to deliver high level on-site customer support, maintenance and repair service to existing and future clients.
As this is a customer facing role, you will exhibit high professional company image at all times. A Smartphone, Laptop and company vehicle will be provided.
Key Responsibilities : Providing technical service support to customers in Italy Carry out on-site inspections and repairs to WME equipment (pumps, cyclones, valves, sieves, etc.
Providing technical service support and expertise for outside sales force, consultants and customers. Make a service report(s) of the external activities.
Report materials, hours in our extensive administration systems. Preparing spares quotations and bids related to service.
Proposing, securing, performing and executing service contracts with end users. Carry out commissioning of new equipment supplied.
Advising customers on equipment installations and start up. Assisting and internaly / externaly carrying out with customer complaints.
Preparing service and maintenance trianings or proposals for clients. Support aftermarket sales through field / site visits to understand how our equipment operates and wears, and to work with direct reporting and the technology center to develop product / material improvements in line with customer expectations.
Being involved site surveys to ensure the solutions are compatible with existing customer plant and equipment. Work closely with sales team and support identify market opportunities and potential customers and develop these relationships to deliver on aftermarket objectives.
Ensure maximize all opportunities and deadlines and customers’ expectations are met. Proposing / support / manage equipment and process trials effectively in order to ensure maximum success rate.
Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting for customer problems. Prepare reports detailing technical problems to initiate necessary corrective product modifications and / or recommended manufacturing process changes.
Learn and share inter-company best practices. Support / manage our internal workshop / werehouse to carry out stock management and service works.
Monitoring inbound and outbound shipments planned for next week; execute process with the warehouse operative. Ongoing communication with customers and suppliers.
Prospecting of new customers in the defined territory. Follow and comply with all WME and VCA safety and work rules and regulations.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards and Company policies, procedures, and programs. Follow and secure to work in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves and others.
Promote and demonstrate compliance to company safety procedures and legal obligations. Recognize and report and resolve hazards identified.
Engage and promote a zero harm culture. Be aware of physical limitations based upon job requirements Experience & Qualifications : Minimum 3 years experience with maintenance within Sand & Gravel Plant or process industries would be advantageous Knowledge of minerals processing industry and / or aggregates, power, chemical & process industries Mechanical / Electrical background is desirable Competent in using Microsoft Office suite Driving license is essential Benefits : Competitive salary Company vehicle Mobile Phone Company pension Weir Share scheme 25 days holiday #minerals
