    If you’re looking for an exciting career across the Food Sector where you can truly make a difference, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical & Operations Manager in order to develope and manage an EMEA field based delivery team across the region and implementing the Technical Scheme requirements for the Global Food Schemes in the EMEA region.

    Purpose of the position

    This is a leadership position; recruiting, developing and managing an EMEA field based delivery team across the region and implementing the Technical Scheme requirements for the Global Food Schemes in the EMEA region.

    The role has responsibility for the delivery of assessment days required by the budget alongside managing the technical competence of our auditors and support teams to meet scheme requirements working with in collaboration with the Food Centre of Excellence in Australia.

    The role has responsibility to work with the Food EMEA Food Director & Global Food Operations & compliance Director to ensure we have the right resources to deliver correctly the EMEA Food strategy.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    Work with the EMEA Regional Directors, Operations Director and Food Director to develop a robust resource plan, recruiting to grow the region and respond to changing needs.

    To recruit and support the on-boarding of new starters across the region.Work with the Food Sector of Excellence and Regional Compliance Teams to manage the different products and sector scheme requirements ensuring assessments are done correctly to meet requirements.

    To proactively manage the operations delivery team to meet delivery targets and required levels of excellence.Monitor team performance through feedback, observed assessments, report reviews and CARs and act accordingly.

    Continue to review training needs and coach and develop to drive performance, upskilling the team, maintaining skills and conducting regular reviewsSet, review and report on KPIsManage the accreditation requirements of the food scheme owners.

    To manage the interface with sales and manage the planning of the food work across the regionProvide support to key EMEA Regional stakeholders and ensure that the key sector requiremenst are fully understood

    Required Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

    Strong operational and technical background in food sector ideally in a certification environment (FSSC / BRC Lead Assesor)An understanding of revenue, gross profit and contributionUnderstanding of the management system assessment processExperience and awareness of working within a commercial environmentAbility to coach and develop others to drive performance Communication skills which engage, motivate and inspireImprovement focussedStrong team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levelsGood planning and organisational skillsProven problem solving abilities, able to act quickly, exercise discretion and resolve issues within prescribed parametersGood use of IT systemsTakes a genuine interest in the emotional and motivational needs of othersTakes a flexible approach to work and shifts priorities as neededDemonstrates thought leadershipHas gravitas and presence in the style of personal deliveryPassion for success in businessUpholds BSI values and acts as a role model
