The IHS Markit Automotive - Supply Chain and Technology team is in search of a Senior Analyst Software, focusing on research and forecasting of a variety of aspects related to software in connected and autonomous vehicles.
This position will be based out of any of the IHS Markit European offices (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan) or Southfield.
General Job Duties
Conduct primary and secondary research to build in-depth understanding of software as it relates to stacks used in infotainment, connectivity, telematics control units, ADAS and domain controllers
Maintain databases which track a set of attributes related to software (software and middleware structure, supplier information, licensing, etc)
Ability to develop models to provide high level software cost forecasts based on functionality, licensing, hardware, middleware and UI / UX requirements
Present findings / data via webinars and at conferences / tradeshows / client events
Nurturing a network of contacts at automotive companies
Project work involvement, including cross-regional and cross-team projects as needed
Directly support local sales team to secure renewals and new business
Proven understanding of current and future trends in software for connected car and / or ADAS applications
Understanding of how hardware configuration, middleware and UI requirements impact system complexity and potentially cost
Expertise or working knowledge in software platforms such as Linux, QNX, Android, iOS, Alexa, etc.
Engineering and / or software development background is highly desirable, OEM and / or Tier-1 relevant experience is a plus
Fluency in English, additional language skills an added bonus
Passion and knowledge of automotive and / or mobile industry, Proven connections / entry points in the automotive industry
Proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); understanding of database mechanics helpful but not essential (e.g. Access, SQL)
Accurate Analytical and Data interpretation skills
Strong presentations skills and comfortable in client interactions
