Network Services Senior Network Operations Engineer

Role Profile

The Senior Network Operations Engineer forms a critical part of the Fabric Services Team within Global Technology Services.

As a Senior Network Operations Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Infrastructure Technical Architect, Engineering, Operations and Project Delivery teams to ensure that our network achieves the desired levels of security, availability and performance.

You will also contribute to driving Network performance and stability through defined roles and responsibilities in line with SLA’s.

As a senior resource within the team, you will have operational ownership and accountability of all global production services and there will be requirements to manage and resolve complex technical escalations from the global network support team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ownership and associated responsibilities for LSEG productions services within Networks.
  • Be a technical escalation contact for L1 and L2 global network support teams
  • Problem Management - Ownership of recurring technical issues, ensuring that long term fixes are implemented to prevent any repeat failures
  • Post Incident Management Review of major incidents and implement improved solutions
  • Project Engagement - Ensure solutions are Operationally fit for service as part of Handover
  • Security Vulnerabilities Management Regular reviews and actions to drive stability
  • Capacity Reporting regular reviews and actions to proactively drive stability
  • Change Management - review of all changes to ensure best practice and standards compliance
  • Network Management Tooling Drive with vendors continual improvements in the tools sets
  • Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Subject matter expert within the networking field but has broad understanding in other technical areas sufficient to contribute to broader more strategic discussions.
  • Experienced in leading the technical recovery of Network related Incidents
  • Excellent knowledge of F5
  • Excellent knowledge of Firewall technologies
  • Excellent knowledge of Juniper
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco (ACI Beneficial)
  • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Multicast technologies as used in financial sector
  • In depth knowledge of Internet and associated environments
  • Strong client management skills
  • Good knowledge of Service Management process’s,
