Borsa Italiana Spa, the company responsible for the organization and management of Italian financial markets and now part of the London Stock Exchange Group, is seeking a well qualified individual for the Trading Surveillance Department (Derivatives Markets Surveillance Associate) : Derivatives Markets Surveillance Associate

Markets Supervision oversees trading activity in all Borsa Italiana markets, in order to maintain fair and orderly trading conditions and member firms’ compliance with rules and regulations.

The Market Supervision team also carries out a series of market operations tasks such as real-time management of trading parameters, order handling, assistance to members on compliance-related matters, error trade management, price adjustments of equity cash and derivatives instruments and indices subsequent to corporate actions (i.

e. adjustment coefficients calculation, evaluation of ex-rights, warrants and convertible bonds issues, support to issuers and other BIt teams), fair price valuation for newly listed securities, calculation of settlement prices of derivatives contracts, second-level control of primary index, co-operation with and assistance to other business units to product development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Real-time and ex-post supervision mainly in the derivatives markets. As an example, the activities will include markets interventions, handling of input errors, management of member firms requests, supervision of trading after hours;
  • Interfaces with member firms, peers, management and others and provides excellent internal / external customer service in the trading surveillance of the markets organized and managed by Borsa Italiana, including after-hours sessions;
  • Handling of ad hoc applications for real-time monitoring and ex-post surveillance;
  • Organizes information from a variety of sources to be used in the development of regulatory reports;
  • Analyzes trading activity in area of primary responsibility for indications of potential breaches;
  • Adjustment of equity cash and derivatives instruments and indices subsequent to corporate actions and fair price valuation for newly listed securities;
  • Presents findings (orally and in writing) in an organized, concise and timely fashion;
  • Computer literacy
  • Work is performed in an office environment, with extended hours
  • Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Degree in Finance or Economics;
  • Working experience : one or two years’ experience in banking and financial sectors;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English;
  • Good knowledge of Derivatives Market;
  • good general IT Skills and knowledge of data structures;
  • Team working attitude;
  • Precision and attention to details;
  • Strong communicational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Availability to cover shifts.
