We are looking / seeking for a qualified candidate for the role of Senior Embedded Software Engineer. In this role you will be a versatile software developer that can lead the development of software components for Home Appliances.
This position is located in Cassinetta di Biandronno, Varese, Italy.
Your tasks in this role will include
Contribute to the overall implementation of smart products working in scrum agile team
Follow and implement sound software development practices
Adhere to coding standards and procedures
Provide creative solutions to complex problems
Participate in functional, technical, and code review
Apply dev skills and state of the art industry solutions for embedded software and bring the best of these solutions to Whirlpool products
Develop and implement sound software development practices including continuous integration, nighty build & regression testing, test driven design
Assist other engineers through instruction and mentoring
Work in an Agile environment
Integrating Software into Home Appliances involving power electronics
Background and Experiences
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
Relevant application development experience in embedded environment
Relevant previous experience in software design with microcontrollers
Programming experience in C or C++
Previous experience working in an agile environment
Experience with professional software engineering practices over all aspects of software development life-cycle including writing requirements specifications, developing design guidelines and coding standards, performing code reviews, source code control, build systems, testing, release engineering and field support
Understanding or exposure to IOT, WiFi, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy)
Power electronics, inverter technology, half-bridge, quasi resonant, motor control
Experience with threading and performance tuning
Knowledge of electronics. Ability to understand schematics and correlation with Software to drive the hardware.
Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, operating systems, etc
Ability to work cross functionally and globally
Excellent problem solving skills especially debugging of complex software systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A passion for applying latest technologies into the development of innovative features and products
A collaborative attitude and strong desire to succeed as part of the team.
