Product Compliance Engineer

Summary :

The Product Compliance Engineer, reporting to the Product Assurance Manager, will be responsible for the compliance of new and existing products to mechanical and electronic European and International Standards.

The Product Compliance Manager / Engineer will collaborate with multi-functional senior Engineers, Product Managers, Test & Validation Engineers, and Certification Institutions, contributing to all phases of the product development and delivery assuring that the product will be compliant to the applicable EU and extra EU applicable standards.

He / she will assure the maintenance of the compliance during the product life cycle proactively following the standards evolution.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Plan and complete the product certification process, defining applicable standards and test conditions and documenting test results.
  • Supervise the testing progress and the periodical audits on tests and production.
  • Suggest product features to reach the required certifications.
  • Identify deviations from certification standards and related root causes, interacting with development teams to fix the issues.
  • Monitor the regulatory and normative scenario worldwide, to assure a proactive approach to future requirements and propose product developments to assure the compliance maintenance.
  • Interacts with Certification Bodies and external Laboratories and works in cross-functional teams, including R&D, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing.
  • Qualifications

  • Engineering bachelor degree for mechanical, electronics, electro-mechanics, or similar technical background.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience for certification engineer / 5-10 years of relevant experience for certification manager
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality System (knowledge of ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality System is welcome)
  • English - excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Available to travel and to work in international teams either Italian or English speaking.
  • Key competencies

  • Experience in gathering, analyzing and documenting technical standards, translating them in product technical requirements with a cross-
  • functional approach (e.g. electromechanical integration).

  • Able to manage technical problems, Analysis skills to ensure clear, complete, consistent, unambiguous, and verifiable (cost, schedule, capability) requirements
  • Project planning and execution, innovation.
  • Teamworking in multi-functional teams and with certification institutes to contribute to all phases of product development, assuring the compliance to legal & technical requirements.
  • Able to simplify complex problems and to share knowledge with non-expert people
