Job Description :
The Senior Project Leader (SPL) manages and leads a portfolio of complex strategic business and customer order projects.
Works to scope and execute projects from concept through completion through detailed focus on the customer / business needs communication, financial, schedule, legal, etc.
Actively engages in our Lean journey by building and acting on continuous improvement and development opportunities. Encourages others to discover, develop and apply their talents enabling them to reach their full potential.
Review and obtain project details including customer / business expectations, OEM quotes, and data sheets to develop the project scope.
Travel to customer / business sites as necessary to develop a scope, validate project completion or other required interactions.
Estimate the cost required to execute the project scope including but not limited to project management, engineering, 3rd party equipment / labor, etc.
Continually identify and burn down risk through the completion of the project.
Coordinate and navigate local legal environmental requirements to ensure project success.
Work with Purchasing team to procure necessary 3rd party equipment.
Develop and execute a communication plan with all stakeholders.
Align the value stream execution schedule with the project schedule including 3rd party supplier and value stream commitments as required.
Develop financial plan and work projects to plan.
Manage changes to scope, issue change orders as necessary and track approval and impact to the project finances, schedule and required services.
Manage 3rd party suppliers to ensure commitments are met. Manage any changes in scope with 3rd party supplier. Verify milestone payments are made per contract.
Coordinate execution of deliverables per project scope.
Manage on site activities including 3rd party integration, installation support, commissioning, and startup.
Collect, maintain and communicate lessons learned and ensure standard work is modified accordingly.
Other responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum 5 years managing complex business and manufacturing projects.
Strategic problem-solving ability with demonstrated success.
Strong interpersonal communication, management and administrative skills.
Highly organized with demonstrated ability to effectively multitask.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with project management software (MS Project or other).
Proactive, energetic and results driven with strong communication skills.
Ability to travel up to 40% domestically and / or internationally.
Additional requirements :
Master’s Degree in Business Administration
Background with capital equipment project execution, including project financial management.
Familiar with PMBOK principles.
Leadership of lean projects or product development projects
