The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and execute Italian / EMEA reimbursement strategies that inform and support the value positions of Zimmer Biomet technologies.
In all work, this position is responsible for setting the agenda, and providing market access / reimbursement / health economics guidance both strategic and tactical support - to the business segments and assigned country.
Position works collaboratively with the Franchise product management and commercialization entities. This position has the lead responsibility in Italy for the strategic application of Zimmer Biomet’s Market Access guidance to facilitate value-based pricing, support reimbursement strategy and best market positioning with clinical and economic evidence-based support.
The success of this position is fundamentally based on the ability to support the reimbursement strategy and value messaging of Zimmer Biomet’s products and solutions in the context of a competitive global medical device marketplace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development, creation, management and communication of reimbursement assessments, strategy and tactics to facilitate global marketing, market access and product pricing for Zimmer Biomet in Italy.
Develop and execute strategies which create opportunities in Italian Private Health, by developing payer relations and delivering value tools to best position Zimmer Biomet for growth in this market
Develop and maintain key relationships with government entities, HTA organizations, payers, surgeons, academia, and professional societies to maintain cutting edge knowledge as it relates to Market Access, and to facilitate our understanding of the changing market place and how Zimmer Biomet needs to respond.
Monitor, analyze and respond to major policy / reimbursement or legislative trends that affect Zimmer Biomet’s interests.
Establish and drive health economic data collection and analysis strategies in order to effectively demonstrate the economics of our therapies and products including the support needed for hospital negotiations, the cost / benefit of key technologies and the overall value of Zimmer Biomet products, to key stakeholders.
Collaborate with the global Market Access, HE&R team on a regular basis.
Represent the Market Access, HE&R function at appropriate meetings and events. Collaborate and provide guidance with regard to clinical and economic study designs to meet Market Access needs by collaborating with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Government Affairs.
Input on publication and publication strategy of economic and clinical outcomes for Zimmer Biomet products or procedures.

Education / Experience Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s Degree is strongly preferred in the area of healthcare or a related field with demonstrated academic success plus experience with development and implementation of reimbursement strategies.
Excellent working knowledge of Italian / EMEA / Global payers and related reimbursement systems.
Experience in orthopedics with a broad understanding of orthopedic procedures.
Must be fluent in Italian and English.
