Role Summary

  • This position will be seated at our Turin, Italy location*
  • The Account Manager assumes responsibility in supporting the sales of automotive products while assuring attention to general sales tasks that affect product lines.

    Develops multilevel internal / external contacts to provide customer support for area of responsibility. Services customers in accordance with organizational standards and direction.

    Supports Global Key Account Manager in selling existing products and introduction ofl new products and technology concepts to customers.

    Interfaces with internal and external contacts regarding product specifications, cost / price, timing, et cetera. Identifies and evaluates new business opportunities.

    Performs market research as necessary. Assists internal engineering groups in developing cost information necessary to determine new product pricing.

    Suggests product modifications to assure that current and future products meet customers’ needs. Understands all products responsible for including form, fit, and function and benchmarks to the competition.

    Assists in establishing, developing, and executing marketing / sales strategies, plans, and sales forecasts for respective area based on current and projected customer orders.

    Supports marketing / sales strategies established for each account responsible for. Controls costs for projects in respective area.

    Performs other duties in support of departmental goals and objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Work is highly technical and complex in character and requires expert technical and broad business knowledge. Requires independent problem solving and decision making with only very broad direction given on assignments.
  • Consults with Global Key Account Manager to determine specific project objectives and approaches to assignment.

  • Decisions and actions have major impact on the organization / unit’s long-term success.

  • Performs other duties in support of departmental goals and objectives. May supervise and / or provide work direction to other staff.
  • Maintains regular attendance.
  • Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed;
  • Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.

  • Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS)
  • Key Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus minimum three (3) years diverse account management experience; or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree preferred, ideal candidate would have an Engineering degree with a Master’s in Business.
  • Additional Information

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 10 plus years of experience in a similar role with Intercompany or OEM direct sales experience.
  • Proven consistent, reliable track record with experience with multiple products, customers and / or project exposure. Must have mastery of this field including a thorough and knowledge / expertise of products, customers, technology and programs in respective area.
  • Achievement and experience with managing a broad range of products preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others through support, training, etc.
  • Must be able to oversee the management of programs and take responsibility for critical programs based on large sales volume and / or strategic importance.
  • Must be able to develop long-term strategies to meet future business needs and growth opportunities.

  • Demonstrated decision making / leadership abilities in managing multiple programs to meet goals (quality, cost and delivery of programs) from concept through launch.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts and represent the Company in a professional manner when performing job duties.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to exercise influence at various levels and functions.

  • Should have experience with past project financial responsibilities.
