Job PurposeTo provide medical and scientific support to healthcare professionals through scientific communications and support for clinical research to facilitate the working between GW Pharmaceuticals and the healthcare community.
To provide specialist medical and scientific advice to colleagues to develop materials, activities and support appropriate use of GW Pharmaceutical medicines.
Key Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesActive member of the country medical affairs team.Identify relevant local external scientific research and collaborations opportunities for medical affairs groupSupport country teams as a scientific expert and medical education coordinatorLiaise closely with the International Medical TeamSupport country team with medical input, presentations and training materialAct as deputy of local DIO (Stellvertreter des Informationsbeauftragten)Detailed Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesProvide medical / scientific support to country activities, serve as medical / scientific peer and provide resources within the medical community with the primary purpose to establish and maintain peer-peer relationships.
Provide internal medical training aligned with country plan and needs.Engage with members of the medical community and other healthcare providers across the country to support the delivery of medical / scientific education on disease state, therapeutic options and research advances of strategic importance to the Company.
Support the development & implementation of medical / scientific activities, supporting the Country Medical Lead in order to execute agreed Medical Affairs strategy.
Support the Country Medical Lead in development of local medical strategic plan including data generation plans.Partner with commercial, Market Access and PAPR country teams to ensure that materials have relevant and proper scientific content, as well as proper country localizationProvide medical / scientific input and support commercial, market access and PAPR activities while ensuring adherence to relevant company policies and procedures as well as local regulations and codes of practice.
Keep up to date with and comply with relevant company SOPs and working practices, regulations and Codes of Practice. Assist with the development and revision of departmental SOPs / guidelines.
Carries out their work in a way that will not adversely affect their own, or others’, health, safety and security or the environment and reports any shortcomings in GW arrangements.
Represents the German DIO (Informationsbeauftragter) and is familiar with internal approval standards and processesKey attributes / Skills / education - ESSENTIALUniversity degree (Bachelor’s) required, preferably in scientific field of relevance to position.
