Function description

The ICT and Security Department develops and manages the whole software and system development life-cycle for FinecoBank application and infrastructure landscape.

The department boosts the rationalization of all processes supporting business lines, through the collection of needs related to IT and Security services and the promotion of technological opportunities offered by the market evolution.

Job description

The DBA NoSQL is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Oracle and NoSQL based infrastructures in support of high volume, complex data transactions for specific services or groups of services.

The position will report to the Head of DataBase Management and Development and will primarily work with System Engineers, Developer Engineers and Project Managers in a virtual team and focus on designing, building and deploying high availability, robust, resilient and supportable database solutions to operate large volumes of data transactions.

With a focus on the infrastructure and operational elements of designing and deploying a database solution, the Senior DBA must ensure the databases are highly available, have sufficient capacity in place and are fully resilient across data centers and cloud architectures.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design, development, data modelling with anyone of NoSQL (Document Oriented and Graph databases like MongoDB, Cassandra DB, ElasticDB, CouchDB, etc).

Be responsible for Database design, performance tuning, query tuning and Database operations. Manage the operations for both development and production databases.

Be responsible for installation, configuration, creation and administration of MongoDB, CassandraDB, ElasticDB.

Work on maintaining database security (roles, privileges, authentication).

Design and implement tuning / indexing strategies to maximize performance.

Analyze and propose alternative approaches for data development solutions.

Create and maintain documentation, procedures and best practices for database deployment and maintenance.

Troubleshoot NoSQL issues and performance bottlenecks.

Experience in databases performance and capacity planning.

Thorough understanding and significant experience of database backup and recovery, performance monitoring and tuning, data manipulation and migration and advanced replication technologies.

Ensure proper synergies to deliver on time-sensitive initiatives on time, within the quality specs, and within budget.

Hands on experience in Microservices environment (docker / kubernetes etc).

Required qualifications / experience

Previous working experience as a NoSQL Administrator / Developer for 3-5 years.

Experience with MongoDB / Cassandra.

Deep understanding of NoSQL and relational databases and database fundamentals, including data storage, data modeling, and data access patterns.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Ability to problem-solve and ability to follow through on tasks.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.

Responsive and prompt communication.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with relational DB (Oracle).

Scripting / Programming experience.
