The Role :
Reporting to the DTC merchandising manager, mission of this role is to create balanced, commercial and innovative product ranges in-
line with DTC channel requirements. Delivering strategies, identifying risks and opportunities online and for each owned store in order to drive sales and margin as well as brand image.
Key Responsibilities :
Responsible together with the planner for driving and executing strategy and plans in-line with set targets and objectives in OTB plan.
Building and maintaining a targeted brand offer, with a strong focus on anticipating and meeting the needs of the customer.
Working with an omnichannel approach to make sure seasonal product offer is consistent across DTC channel.
Regularly review sales performance and suggest actions through insightful analysis of the business.
Oversee In season re-orders and stock management processes ensuring high level of accuracy in a timely manner.
Partners with planning manager, retail manager and ecom manager to analyze In-season performance, prepare sales plans and forecasts for the season and providing analysis of daily / weekly sales to drive out sound commercial trading actions for profit maximization.
Share analysis and insights across department.
Provide commercial input to allow optimum decision making around future assortment planning and wider strategic brand decisions.
Provide insight on best selling items / categories and slow selling / down-trending categories to maximize sales and reduce inventory liabilities / markdown.
Partner with ecom team to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate, cross-sell and add to cart rates.
Support effective in store visual merchandising and ensure new products are set-up on time and merchandised according to relevant strategies.
Keeping up to date with competitor activity and constantly reviewing the product strategy, you will understand the market place, target customer and key competitors to ensure the brand remains ahead at all times.
Responsible for arranging and presenting to various audiences for conferences and other key meetings as required.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor's Degree (BA) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
4+ years experience in Retail / Ecommerce buying.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, above all Excel.
Fluent in English. Other languages will be a plus.
Strong business and financial analysis skills as well as retail math knowledge, including elements of mark up, margin, open to buy, GMROI.
Awareness of current and future trends.
Experience in retail fashion and outdoor would be a plus.
Self motivated, flexible, and able to handle large volumes of work independently.
Strong planning, scheduling and problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate with a wide range of parties, either with product, marketing or sales background.
Willing to travel.
