Essential Responsibilities

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will

  • Be able to review schematics, develop layout of system, prepare the relevant documentation (design basis, specifications, reports) that are required for subsea products (SDU, UTA, HFL, Stabplates), fulfilling Customer Specs, International Codes and Third Parties Requirements and in strict coordination with other disciplines such as modeling and materials
  • Be able to design piping system, perform piping stress analysis and prepare the verification reports that are required for subsea products, fulfilling Customer Specs, International Codes and Third Parties Requirements and in strict coordination with other disciplines such as valves
  • Review material requisitions and the relevant fabrication drawings including Global Dimension & Tolerances, taking care of vendor’s and site’s activities follow-up
  • Use GE quality tools to measure their performances in terms of timeliness (OTD) and quality (FTY) of the deliverables
  • Be involved in supporting the growth of the business by cooperating to the preparation of technical proposals and / or Design Templates / Practices
  • Role Summary / Purpose

    The Lead Mechanical Engineer for Subsea Distribution is responsible for mechanical engineering, as well as the related documentation issuing.

    The applications portfolio includes subsea products like : Subsea Distribution Units (SDU), Umbilical Termination Assemblies (UTA), Hydraulic Stabplates and Hydraulic Flying Leads (HFL).

    Qualifications / Requirements

  • Mechanical / Naval Engineering Degree or equivalent or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Significant experience in mechanical engineering of subsea projects
  • Experience at construction site (Manufacturing & Testing) and / or during installation (ROV & Installation Engineering)
  • Detailed understanding of subsea product design basis / verification methods / qualification technology and general product knowledge gained through significant experience in the subsea field
  • Good knowledge of major technical International Standards related to the disciplines (e.g. ANSI B31.3, B31.8, API, ASME, DNV OS F101, DNV, Eurocode3, ISO19900, ISO19902, ISO13628-1)
  • Able to perform piping and / or structural hand calculations (no FEM ability requested specifically) and give instructions to suppliers
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical Design and Engineering
  • Good knowledge of piping stress analysis software Triflex (similar softwares in alternative)
  • Cross-functional team-working skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent executive requests in a timely manner
  • English language fluency
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced technical degree (Master / PhD)
  • Knowledge of System Engineering, Materials and Subsea Valves
  • Knowledge of Naval and Geotechnical Engineering (preferably subsea)
  • Knowledge of FEM tools for structural (frame and components) or piping analysis : StaadPro / Sesam GeniE / Ansys / Ansys Workbench / Triflex (similar softwares in alternative like SACS / Caesar II)
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD systems, such as Pro-Engineer (preferred) or similar, and to interface / exchange models with calculation SW
  • Basic knowledge of other technical standards (API6A, PED, EN13445, EN13480, etc.)
  • Global working experience with strong external focus (Customers and / or Suppliers)
