  • including individuals with disabilities and United States qualified protected veterans. Job Summary : The Aftermarket Sales Manager, due to experience and consistently demonstrated competence, is assigned key accounts that are our largest and more sophisticated customers.

    The Aftermarket Sales Manager is expected to operate with a high degree of independence in developing and presenting proposals and in negotiating prices and sales terms.

    The incumbent has full knowledge of all products and services and their proper applications and works with the Engineer in preparing quotations.

    Expertise in the product and its application are major assets in the sales effort. The Aftermarket Sales Manager will have a background of at least five (5) years of experience in the sale of integrally geared centrifugal compressors or similar products. Responsibilities :

  • Development of MSG customer accounts and maintaining a close relationship with their organizations. Also replacement units and plant expansions.
  • Make contact with purchasing and engineering departments to determine compression requirements (current and future), disseminate product information, determine if there is a potential for parts or services sales and follow up such leads until sale is made or lost.
  • When customer uses bidding procedure, make every effort to influence and assist customer to develop and use bid specifications and assure that Ingersoll Rand has an order opportunity.
  • Work with Engineers in writing up and presenting a quotation based on the customer's requirements, ensuring that the bid or quotation is accurate, precise and thoroughly understood by the customer.
  • Follow-up on all quotations or bids to conclusion, including, if sale is missed, determining reason for lost sale.
  • Follow up on successful bids, working closely with Field Service Technicians and with customer personnel responsible for installing and maintaining the machine.
  • Maintain relationship with existing customers to determine possible problem areas by making arrangements for replacement parts, overhaul or service work.
  • Use Salesforce to track and maintain records of customer and opportunities.
  • Continued training to maintain product knowledge. Work closely with product groups.
  • Must be familiar with competitors’ products and informed of competitive sales activities.
  • Qualifications :

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience selling heavy industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication, including influencing skills.
  • Ability to virtually collaborate with peers in remote locations.
  • Financial acumen, problem resolution and data analytics skills are needed for success.
  • Travel 25-50%
