ABOUT SAINT LAURENT

Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter in a 1966 collection called Rive Gauche’, synonymous with youth and freedom.

This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the sociocultural landscape.

In 1999, the luxury goods division of the Kering Group acquired Yves Saint Laurent and, under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, continues to position the house at the summit of the luxury universe.

Today, Saint Laurent collections include women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, small leather goods, jewelry, scarves, ties and eyewear.

ROLE

Be responsible for raw material suppliers’ portfolio through the development and implementation of purchasing categories strategies and projects and be responsible for ensuring quality, processes improvement (from the allotment to the delivery), sustainability and costs saving

MISSION

  • Ensure strategy vision, definition and execution
  • Follow and implement policies and procedures to pursue the strategy defined in consistency and compliance with Group frame work and guidelines
  • Analize raw material trend and do the reports needed to show up and improve the purchasing activities
  • Set economic and / or qualitative targets for each purchasing categories
  • Look for, evaluate and implement new suppliers
  • Be a senior negotiator in charge to finalize the best deals with the suppliers
  • Select and manage performing suppliers, define KPIs, evaluate their performance and compliance
  • Manage and improve KPIs, vendor rating and performance
  • Take care of coding and order activities
  • Manage, lead and support the team through the definition and the follow up of objectives and priorities and motivate them
  • Act as operational link between the Material Research and the Production departments
  • PROFILE

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in purchasing for fashion companies
  • Good technical knowledge concerning leather and metal hardware materials is a plus
  • Excellent planning and project management abilities
  • Experience of successfully leading managing a team is required
  • Leadership and team work
  • Problem solving and change management attitude
  • Analytical, persuasion and creativity abilities
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of organization and suppliers
  • Quality driven attitude
  • Excellent in reporting and coding als in terms of IT activities
  • Fluent in English
  • AS400 knowledge desired
