Purpose of the job

The Plant Engineering Manager / Responsabile Manutenzione Fabbrica organizes PE activities to support the site with the adequate infrastructure and services and ongoing support, leads KPI based performance measurement and improvement, especially in Productivity, cost of investment and services and HSE related topics

He / She ensures that infrastructure concepts are available and appropriate and part of the site’s financial planning, needs are fulfilled on time, committed budget and targets are achieved and Continuous Improvement on service levels, cost and consumption is steered by monitoring of appropriate KPIs.


  • Develop and implement a first line maintenance process together with maintenance / operations / test personnel
  • Continuously improve change over, design, reliability and serviceability. Ensure that the maintenance schedule is achieved on time
  • Develop and implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks (for all equipment, tooling, machinery, test facilities, movement vehicles etc) system using all relevant sources of information such as supplier data, maintenance, engineering and historical information.
  • Ensure that all equipment, tools, roads, pedestrian walkways and car parks and machinery are maintained according to appropriate legislation and statutory inspections are recorded and stored for external / internal verification.
  • Ensure a well-run spare parts process (roles and responsibilities, periodic reviews, quantities, lead-time, cost, visual tracking etc).
  • Ensure legal compliance, track and improve the use of energy, waste and utilities. Reduce energy consumption and improve level of recycling.
  • Maintain utility services to ensure no disruption to site operations

  • Manage the outsourced contracts such as :
  • o contracts for regular maintenance of cranes & lifting equipment, of heating & air conditioning equipment, of railway tractors, etc.;
  • o contracts for test track area hire & plant railway connection;
  • o contracts for electricity & gas.

  • Ensure that appropriate standards of service are maintained through regular reviews and monitoring.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Manufacturing Engineering, TPM, Legislation, risk management. Related IT-systems relevant KPIs. Thorough understanding of Project Management and Finance, HSE topics.
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in managing and improving infrastructure and equipment, including financials and commercials.
  • Experienced in 3rd party contract management.

  • o Ensures the execution of policies as well as timeliness and quality of deliverables.

    o Sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.

    o Supervises a team of professionals, team leads and / or supervisors engaged in specific tasks within a single functional area.

  • o Demonstrates strong communication and diplomacy skills and has the ability to guide, influence and convince

  • Italian - fluent, English- intermediate.
