About the role
It is exciting times here at Churchill Retirement Living PLC due to our bold growth plans and we are recruiting for a Head of IT to support the strategic development of the Company’s IT systems and drive efficiency through the use of technology, based in Ringwood, Hampshire.
You will be responsible for not only the strategic development but also the day to day operation of the Company’s IT systems as well as manage, motivate and lead the IT team to ensure delivery excellence and a highly regarded service.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer your duties will include creating a vision for ICT, ensuring the effective communication of the vision to fellow ICT Colleague as well as the wider Churchill Team, provide advice to the Board on the application and use of ICT.
You will be able to identify opportunities and solutions to improve organisational performance, ensuring the Company’s IT systems are safe, secure and stable as well as ensuring all ICT processes are documented.
You will build strong relationships and work closely with Senior Directors and other Senior Managers; these relationships are essential to ensure that you are able to overcome any business challenges with the support of technology.
You will also be a champion of change ensuring excellent project management principles are adhered to.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm.
You will have a proven track record of leading and managing a team of multi-site ICT professionals. You’ll understand the importance of motivating individuals to create a high performing team culture, celebrating success and sharing both individual and team recognition.
You will hold a recognised Project Management qualification (Prince 2 Practitioner) or equivalent and be able to demonstrate comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies and how they can apply to a growing, multi-site business.
With a technical background, you will know what good IT practice looks like and will be able to talk to specialists on all subjects.
You will have excellent communication skills and will be able to advise non-IT individuals in both a strategic and operational perspective ensuring that full understanding and appreciation is gained.
You will also have good negotiation skills including contract management and monitoring.
