TheProject Engineer, Design Cost Analysis will assume responsibilityfor managing all site product cost activities and act as a SiteCosting lead.
This involves developing, tracking, and reportingtarget product cost information for New Product Introductionprojects (DCA) for various product lines and also leading costreduction activities for current products (PCO).
The positionholder will be the key enabler to achieve our ambitious costtargets on new and current products. His responsibilities willinvolve local and global projects.
This positionprovides the support on the product cost since the starting of theproject to the release, guaranteeing the margins expected by thecompany.
Each decision influences the profitability of a component,of a platform or vehicle and therefore of the company. Costreduction measures for margin improvement must be carried outresponsibly.
This position reportsdirectly and locally to Engineering Director and matrix to theDirector Global NPI Finance Harvesting and assumes a supervisoryrole asrequired.
Establish costs targets and ensure consistent tracking andreporting for New Product Introduction programs
Facilitate and drive cross-functional costing activities to ensurecost targets are met during NPI programs
Performconcept cost evaluation of modules, components, units indevelopment process
Development of cost models forPurchasing "should costs" make vs buy decisionsand assessment of cost for various manufacturing technologies
Manage current product cost reductions projects (PCO / DTV).This includes e.g.tear-down activities, competitive costsstudies, etc.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical orAgricultural Engineering;
5 to 10 years of experienceon Costing, Manufacturing or Purchasing Activities (preferably onSheetmetal, Castings and Machining)
5 years ofexperience with Pro-E (Pro-Sheetmetal, layouts and drafting)preferred, other similar 3-D CAD system acceptable);
Manufacturing experience, Bill of Materials and knowledge ofproduct cost structure preferred;
Experience withMicrosoft Office software;
Excellent Englishcommunication (verbal andwritten)
4-5year Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or AgriculturalEngineering;
