IIT is looking for candidates with outstanding track records in Computational Material Sciences with particular focus on the development and application of atomistic modelling techniques to address key questions on the surface chemistry of semiconductor colloidal nanocrystals in relation, but not limited, to the improvement of their opto-electronic properties.
The successful candidate will perform and supervise advanced computations using state-of-the-art HPC facilities at IIT (including hybrid CPU / GPU infrastructures) and at supercomputing centers at national and international level.
She / he will be involved in the research activity of the Institute and will perform and develop her / his own independent research line.
The candidate must have a PhD Degree and extensive postdoctoral experience, as well as a groundbreaking record of accomplishments (publications, attracting grants, etc.
in Computational Chemistry / Physics or related fields. Profound expertise in quantum mechanics-based approaches and related methodologies, with application in the area of material science and nanoscience is required.
Deep knowledge of Density Functional Theory and related methods is also crucial for covering a wide spectrum of expertise required in computational material sciences.
