Your Mission

The Global Product Manager position is an international highly strategic role within the Scientific Vacuum Division (SVD).

As the Global Product Manager you lead the strategy of your product group in Mechanical TMPs. You will be personally responsible for driving the latest product platforms nEXT and Turbovac i and their latest family members to commercial success.

Main Responsibilities :

  • Take the strategic leadership role for new products and platforms in your product group for all brands.
  • Independently drive profitable revenue growth of latest mech.
  • TMP platform from both brands nEXT and Turbovac i into all market sectors, leveraging the strength of our brands, product portfolio expansion and excellent internal / external cooperation.
  • Define the growth focus and align with Business Development Managers.
  • The Global Product Manager is more external oriented role and therefore active involvement with the SV Business Line Managers is a key part of the role.
  • Working closely with all internal partners as well as with external suppliers.

  • The relationship with external suppliers is a key part of this role as a big portion of the Measurement & Instrumentation portfolio are factored products.
  • Make sure that your product portfolio is well structured (streamlined portfolio), sustained (administrated in SAP) and all sales relevant information is in place.
  • Take the ownership of all sales relevant data for your products such as for example brochures (content), manuals, selling stories (training material), pricing information (list price and maximum discount level), warranty terms and technical product information.
  • Do product trainings when required online or in person. Deliver appropriate product training to all relevant Customer Centre’s during a product launch phase.
  • Keep sales relevant information (especially data with safety impact or high commercial risk) up to date and have it available at the right point in time during a product launch.
  • Monitor the 3 5-year horizon from a product perspective and derive the impact on product / technology roadmaps and strategies.
  • Do this together with the Business Development Managers but with a product focus. Business Development Managers have the leading role to seek out for new business opportunities.

  • Derive an innovative product strategy for your product group (3 5 years).
  • At all-times ensure that product related brand differentiation follows the SV multi brand strategy for core products.
  • When starting NPI projects (key NPI projects are in most cases driven by Global Product Manager) prepare all detailed marketing input such as product vision / key product differentiator from competition / unique selling points / key brand differentiation according to overall brand promise and all relevant figures for the business case.
  • Take the ownership of the business case and make sure we deliver on these figures.

  • Define master specification of NPI project in close relationship with Engineering Teams or external partners. Remain in close contact with the Engineering Team during the whole product development phase.
  • Monitor competitor products and provide standardized competitor information for internal and sales purposes.
  • Global Product Managers use data analysis tools to monitor product successes and opportunities and therefore extract specific product driven initiatives for Customer Centre’s.
  • Global Product Managers support Customer Centre’s when asked to do so.
  • Skills and experience

    As we are a strong virtual team, we expect strong teamwork skills as well as a strong business acumen. Mech. TMPs represent our biggest product group and we are just in the process of launching the next important family members.

    We expect that you push these new family members into their dedicated markets together with our BLMs.

    In parallel to that you need to work closely with all team member to define and realize the next steps, securing innovation leadership for the next 5-8 years - 2nd and 3rd horizon.

    Degree or higher level in an engineering or science discipline, with several years of relevant experience in technical / sales / marketing roles within an international, high technology company.

    Minimum of 8 years working experience in a diverse environment. Job experience across several departments such as Engineering / Marketing / Sales / Application Support.

    Experience with projects in an international, commercially driven environment.
