Responsibilities

  • Work on the Go-to-Market team with Marketing, Product and PR to enable language experiences for Google’s products and Italian users.
  • Engage with local stakeholders to understand priorities, and share updates on language strategy / global localization services.
  • Create / evolve Italian language guidelines / strategy, incorporate input from users, stakeholders, and language trends.
  • Share information with local / global teams.

  • Develop an expert understanding of market / user expectations for language quality and how to use language to achieve market / user needs.
  • Seek language studies and user insights to improve understanding. Engage with Italian tech / localization industry to stay informed about trends.

  • Ensure translation and review vendors deliver high quality translations that align to Google's standards. Assess vendor metrics to identify issues / trends, use metrics to drive improvements with local vendors.
  • Improve language quality / processes, and drive language / team-level initiatives.

    Minimum qualifications :

  • Experience as an Italian-English translator, linguist, copywriter, writer or editor.
  • Experience using data to identify trends, inform business-critical decisions, and tell a story from the data.
  • Experience in project / program management, partner / stakeholder management, and working across cross-functional teams and time-zones.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Italian fluently and idiomatically.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Experience within creative, localization, journalism, public communications or the online marketing / advertising industry.
  • Proven ability to thrive in ambiguity, work independently and be able to chart direction of projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple diverse stakeholders across businesses and leadership levels.
  • Excellent communication / presentation skills.
