ABB’s Power Grids business will be divested to Hitachi in 2020. ABB operates in more than 100 countries with about 147,000 employees. .
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Power Grids business, location Lodi (LO).
The selected candidate will lead the execution of medium-size projects and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with Abb Power Grids policy, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, as well as schedule commitments.
Review project proposal, design and plan to validate commercial offers contents and determine time-frame, funding limitations, procedure for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project;
review as necessary the economic parameters to define the planned project gross margin and costs;
Define with Production the production and the testing plans, stating the contractual delivery date and the relevant budget;
confirm the order validity and input the ERP with the final specifications;
Negotiate with internal functions to satisfy customer needs and with the Client, together with Sales when needed, any changes to be made to the order relative to either specifications, time-frame, costs of variations;
Order the materials with the relevant specifications (lead time, quality, budget) through ERP, on design approval, and liaises with the appropriate buyer when needed;
Assure the development of the engineering and production activities requested by final customers till the erection and commissioning activity at site with proper resources involved and sets up correct information flow;
Ensure the flow of information needed by the parties involved in the project;
Attend the KOM at customer premises, negotiating possible milestones and / or changes assuring their implementation;
Attend the tests activities with the client, negotiating possible changes and assuring their implementation by production;
Ensure that delivery comply with contractual and time specifications;
Monitor the project activities and costs progress taking the appropriate corrective actions to meet the targets and to optimize the project margins;
Manage complex projects with a weak organizational matrix and numerous projects simultaneously; lead time management of complex projects.
Engineering degree (better Electrical or Management);
Minimum 7 - 10 years of project management experience, (preferably in production industries);
English fluency is mandatory; Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian or French (nice to have).
Understanding of production (workshop) processes and system integrator competencies;
Capacity and willingness to coordinate other project managers, without a direct hierarchical reporting, (with a possible future evolution as a team manager if results are positive);
Focus orientation on business and client’s need;
Initiative and proactiveness, problem solving, strong leadership and conflict management, public relations skills;
Certification PMI / PMP is a plus.
