For the EU Commission in Brussels we are looking for an Application Architect with at least 9 years of relevant work experience.
Design, installation, migration, development and maintenance of collaborative websites to handle and display data and scientific information about nuclear security, safeguards and export control.
Work to be done
The unit is running a number of websites developed in different technologies (such as NET, Joomla, DNN) and need to develop others.
Some of those websites were
Developed at different points in time, while others were acquired from third parties.
Those websites, hosting a mix of informational pages, document libraries and small databases, need to be migrated to a standard Commission's infrastructure and CMS technology.
The chosen CMS technology is Drupal.

The websites to be migrated to Drupal are hosting a mix of text (HTML) structured information pages, news and events, document libraries (PDF, embedded video, pictures), custom search forms to perform database queries to display data.
Some of the content is accessible only to registered users, so it is necessary to create a number of restricted areas.
The person should develop the new website's content to be easily managed by the designated editor(s) that are not necessarily IT specialists, exploiting the capability and flexibility of Drupal native or customised functions.
The present commitment aims at redeveloping the CBRNe CoE portal in Drupal making maximally use of existing Commission modules and out of the box modules from the
Drupal suite based on security acceptance considerations. The CBRNe portal should be part of a larger environment that hosts all other unit web-
sites or portals and allows adding other portals at a minimal marginal cost.
The person will also write all the necessary and required documentation (such as requirements, user manual, technical reference) and train the scientific and technical personnel to be able to independently support the so created websites.
The person will work in close collaboration with the scientific and technical personnel, following the defined technical, development and interface design instructions and standards.
Level of education corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework.
At least 9 years relevant working experience.
