Job Description :
The successful candidate will become part of the Optics Group. She / he will be involved in the optimisation of the existing optical system and in the design of new optical systems such as the definition and execution of new beamlines for the Elettra 2.0 project.
She / he will be involved in the conceptual design and optical simulation of beamlines and optomechanical design of beamlines components.
She / he will also participate in the optics characterization, assembling, alignment and commissioning, of the most important optical systems such as mirrors, monochromators and other optical components.
She / he will conduct experimental activity in the X-ray optics lab (characterization of single crystal, multilayers, mirrors, etc.)
a PhD in Physics and or a related discipline is a required. The successful candidate is expected to have a working experience of at least 5 years together with an extensive know-
how in the following fields : x-rays transport and diagnostics, UHV systems, multilayers, realization and commissioning of large scale facilities beamlines, optical simulation codes.
Good time management skills and ability to prioritize are expected, together with the capacity to interact with staff and to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Good oral and written communication skills in English.
A working knowledge of the Italian language is desirable.
