Job Purpose

Aligned with Amcor’s aspiration is to be renowned as the Flexibles industry leader in Operational Excellence the CI Manager in Amcor Flexibles Venturina will have responsibility to provide direction for Continuous Improvement (CI) across all functions, delivering both local & central initiatives.

The CI manager is responsible for the development of the plant productivity and cost effectiveness working closely with the Production organization, Quality, Technical and Procurement.

He / She will work across all site functions, diagnosing & coordinating improvement activities that build on and accelerate ongoing initiatives.

The aim of both objectives is to drive significant and sustainable competitive advantage across the value chain and to deliver top and bottom line growth.

  • Scope : Amcor Flexibles Venturina, Italy
  • Principal Accountabilities

  • Ownership of CI initiatives and related tracking in GSTT
  • Ownership of Waste initiatives and related tracking in GSTT
  • Preparation of investment business cases
  • Measurement and analysis of production effectiveness (output, downtime)
  • Energy monitoring
  • Lean 5S initiatives
  • Diagnose key improvement opportunities and set aspirational improvement targets.
  • Develop a shared overview of improvement activity across the plant.
  • Lead and support CI & Kaizen workshops
  • Lead the implementation of central Operational Excellence transformation projects
  • Sustainably embed the Amcor Flexibles Production System (AFPS) including KPIs, standards and process best practices.
  • Introduce and apply appropriate tools and methodologies and best practices.
  • Drive accelerated implementation of most impactful levers.
  • Engage site management and their teams in the transformation effort
  • Communicate progress regularly and celebrate success.
  • Collaborate pro-actively with CI teams across the EMEA business to leverage best practice.
  • Provide training around key Continuous Improvement levers.
  • Mentor and support all co-workers in up-skilling.
  • Major Challenges & Complexities

  • Deal with the local production staff and support the production manager
  • Align with F&F / AFEMEA operational excellence team (metrics, standards, KPI, etc)
  • Manage the shift from local legacy system to integrated SAP
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • Formal Qualifications And Experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Operations Excellence / Continuous Improvement within multinational organization with structured factories.
  • A degree in Chemistry, Managerial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of most commonly used tools (pareto charts, fishbone, etc.). Statistics background.
  • Strong communication skills, negotiation attitude.
  • Good knowledge of main Office applications.
  • Good knowledge of SAP.

  • Fluent spoken and written English; other languages advantageous.
