The position holder leads project and engineering deliverables of Pectin in Milazzo of the engineering disciplines and core technologies (i.
e. extraction, drying, milling, packaging, energy, utilities , inspections, HHP) The position holder is responsible for providing coaching and development to direct reports, performing capital planning, project and portfolio management as well as best practices governance and delivery.
The position holder is responsible to implement the Reliability Excellence (RE) and Continuous Improvement (CI) approach in Manufacturing Technology and Reliability Engineering following the CI and RE-
tools , methods and standards. Principal Accountabilities 15% Safety
Supports the local operational organization by overseeing the deployment of appropriate technology solution considering overall safety, environmental standards (occupational & process safety) & health regulatory requirements
Ensures operations and technology safety compliance with all applicable regulations (i.e, environmental, OSHA) and Cargill Safety requirements and gives input to maintain basic operational compliance
Partners with Functional experts, government, and regulatory entities to obtain appropriate operating permits.
Actively participates into accident and incident investigations
Supports Government and other local authority audits
Actively participates in process safety risk assessments (PSRA)
Supports / consults EHS practice and procedure definition
Actively participates in customer audits as well as governmental / authority audits
Responsible to supply the appropriate methods and standards of project execution as well as using the CI approach (Quality of the Engineering work!)
Supports the local operational organization by overseeing the deployment of appropriate technology solutions considering overall, food safety, quality, regulatory and Cargill reliability requirements.
Gives input into the compliance to food and feed regulatory requirements
35% Performance Improvement
Supports the performance improvement management by being responsible for performance improvement execution by the engineering team
Actively participates in the Plant and Area KPI reporting
Independently assesses and identifies technology application gaps by monitoring / tracking and supporting auditing control mechanisms (i.
e. conducts reviews, implements auditing controls / scorecard tools) to recommend and implement process improvement solutions that contributes to efficiency improvements and deliver cost savings.
Actively participates in the financial performance improvement.
Partners and maintains strong relationships to assess and identify technology gaps and process improvement opportunities.
Supports and coordinates the development of the most effective approach to identify, monitor, and implement Continuous Improvement and best practices.
Participates in and provides input to cross-functional teams to select and implement tools and methodologies that will enable to capture best practices.
May directly supports SMEs by proactively and systematically identifying opportunities for Continuous Improvement applicable to the entire business.
Actively participates in the weekly Idex Meeting
Supports project prioritization following site and business needs (project prioritization matrix)
Supports the capital planning process for base and non-base capital projects. Provides input to the project pipeline and portfolio with ideas for capturing, monitoring and applying leading practices as well as the growth of distinctive engineering and technology applications offerings.
Actively participates in the maintenance shutdown planning
Responsible for Idea management on site to generate improvement opportunities
Responsible for Energy Management and efficiency improvement on the site
Responsible to establish and implement compliance and audit governance and deploys corporate benchmarking metrics and performance measurements.
Responsible for leading project and engineering deliverables, design standards, planning and implementation of operational vision, direction and strategy
Ensures cost effective utilization and integrity of automated tools and technology.
Prepares reports and communications for key stakeholders including Business and Operational Leadership Teams, and for review by managers and Corporate Functional SMEs (EHS, process safety management (PSM), FSRA, Procurement, Quality Control, SMEs).
Supports the manufacturing setting, business / product / service life cycle, environmental and sustainability impact, future growth considerations as well as overall cost of ownership and long-
term usability of assets by drawing on in-depth knowledge of the business operations.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Engineering degree (min. Bachelor) or equivalent (eg. Mechanical, electrical, processing engineering disciplines)
Lean / Six Sigma green belt certification
Italian / English language fluent
Minimum 10 years production / engineering experience
Minimum 3 years leadership experience
Experience as a Project Manager
Strong communication and influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-cultural and cross-functional teams
Master degree in Engineering
Lean / Six Sigma black belt certification
Process monitoring software solutions like OSI PI and / or RTDuet
Project management skills
