  • To be the technical lead for projects, with responsibility for the requirements analysis, for planning and deployment of the concept and the design of main vehicle systems.
  • Lead the concept review to achieve the concept approval from all the stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the technical team to have the best solutions for projects, identify the key characteristics for the main systems, and be able to apply engineering knowledge and principles to devise effectiveness solutions to unique system design problems.
  • Responsible for the overall design content from concept through to detailed component drawings.
  • Support the whole validation plan to achieve the project performances and timing
  • Understands the whole product life cycle including the manufacturing and the quality issues.

    General and Task Management

  • Responsible for the requirements analysis and validation
  • Responsible for the technical development (documentation, plans, engineering cost)
  • Technical leadership of assigned projects
  • Coordinate technical resource for successful project execution
  • High knowledge of the standard processes
  • Lead technical reviews
  • Assess cost / benefit trade-off of different technical solution and lead decision making process
  • Escalate and manage program risks and issues
  • Attend various meetings and action / communicate instructions
  • Produce written reports and make presentations
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
  • Provide technical expertise to the team
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
  • People Management

  • Supervise and work with engineers
  • Motivate and coach the team to operational success
  • Communicate Projects target and information so that each project member is aware
  • Facilitate a cross functional approach
  • Financial Budget and Control

  • Gather all the necessaries information for the project spending ant timing estimation
  • Provide projects budget and planning
  • Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects
  • Relationship Management

  • Be the primary technical interface with the Platform / Brand
  • Support the business development teams by adding technical excellence to proposals and presentations
  • Able to manage suppliers and codesigners and interact with their senior managers
  • Communicate program status, risks and issues in an appropriate and timely manner. Ensure regular and timely communication between project team members
  • Promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them

  • Degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Proven project management and supplier experience
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes, components and design techniques
  • Good English proficiency
