Job Description

Kite is seeking a highly motivated individual for our T cell therapy for cancer treatment. The Manager, Logistics will be responsible to support European distribution strategy for launching the personalized therapy, driving supply chain logistics activities, manage service partners and suppliers and execute invoicing and intercompany flows.

He / she will collaborate with cross-functional teams in Europe and US including Technical Operations, Commercial Operations, Quality and Finance to accomplish Kite’s objectives for product launch and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities :

Support the implementation of European SC distribution strategy

Drive European logistic activities :

  • Interact with logistics suppliers on daily basis, manage performance, regular business reviews and reporting
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and lead their implementation
  • Manage the day-to-day assignment of logistic management tasks and monitor completion of required activities
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement projects
  • Execute invoicing and intercompany flows :

  • Partner with Finance and Tax
  • Work closely with European QA team to ensure GMP compliance in Supply Chain Europe :

  • Create and / or updates area standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required
  • Assist in training SC personnel in area SOPs and compliance
  • Oversee Logistics investigations, process variances and deviations
  • Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local regulations
  • Owner of related business processes and systems
  • Lead cross-border activities : customs and VAT activities
  • Develop and implement protocols and practices to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of strategic initiatives on logistics management
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement projects
  • Assist the head of the department in managing the budget and ensure department adhere to the approved budget
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Preferred qualifications and experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related discipline or equivalent qualification in business administration
  • At least 7 years of relevant supply chain preferable in pharmaceutical or biotech company
  • APICS certification and or supply chain education preferred
  • Other continuing education certifications highly desirable (e.g. Six Sigma, industry specific coursework)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of GMP, GCP, GDP, and relevant ICH and FDA guidelines
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical or medical Supply Chains as well as international distribution experience
  • Previous experience in Logistics, Distribution, and Supply Chain preferred
  • In depth knowledge of distribution operations in a cGMP setting
  • Demonstrated technical skills in supply chain management including demand management
  • Must be able to design and run reporting language queries / programs
  • Experience with Oracle EBS, SAP and / or similar strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Role will have multiple contacts across internal and external groups
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical skills for risk identification and management
  • Proficient in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Warehousing software
  • Cold chain knowledge and experience in a pharmaceutical or medical setting
  • Self-motivated and willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside of initial job description
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a multicultural, fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Flexible and approachable, open minded personality, can do’ mentality
