I &A Section Short Job Summary : The candidate will work in the I&A Section that is in charge of the management of I&A proposals, Procurement and detail engineering development.
He / She will be part of a specialized team within the I&A Section, dedicated to Process Analyzers and he / she will be involved in all phases of FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Projects. Reporting Line :
Hierarchically reports to the I&A Section Head
Key interactions are with;
Internally : Project teams, Procurement dept. Construction dept., Engineering dept., Planning dept., others engineering disciplines.
Externally : clients, vendors, suppliers, Clients (technical specialists, procurement team), Vendors.
The role and responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
Study of process measurement requirements and definition of suitable analytical techniques, when these are not defined.
Definition of sample conditioning requirements based on specified process conditions and selected analytical technique.
Definition of type of installation for analytical systems (in-situ, local rack or cabinet, analyzer house / shelter) based on selected analytical technique and site environmental conditions.
Timely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions for analyzer systems and analyzer cabinets / houses / shelters in coordination with other disciplines.
Technical evaluation of bids to ensure that contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers.
Ensure proper communication with vendors and technical follow up of the orders.
Ensure proper communication with Process Department and other engineering disciplines (e.g. Civil, Piping, Electric, Automation) for management of interfaces.
Check vendors’ calculations for detailed engineering; particularly, sample transport lag times, pressure drops, sample dew / bubble point, rating of circuit breakers, HVAC cooling and heating capacities.
Preparation of drawings and material take-offs for installation of analyzer systems / cabinets / houses / shelters.
Provide technical assistance during the testing phase of analytical systems at vendors’ workshops and during installation and testing at site.
Adhere to the committed man-hours and budget.
Ensure timely reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline Engineer.
Meet Quality and HSE objectives of the project.
Interface with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions such as procurement and planning.
Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees.
Requirements : Must have :
Chemical Engineering Degree
Knowledge of Instrumentation and Automation with at least 5 years of experience in process analytical systems (design & requisitioning)
knowledge of English
Capability to perform its work on time with the required quality level
Communication skills and team spirit
Nice to have : - Basic knowledge on requirements and implementation of CEMS (Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems) and AMADAS (Analyzer Management and Data Acquisition System).
Basic knowledge on requirements and implementation of networks (physical interfaces and protocols for communication).
