Provide our customer with professional design management and architectural services. The Architect serves as an architectural designer for assigned projects in a major military program for extremely diversified and complex military projects and may be concurrently working on one or more projects throughout any stage which would result in reporting to more than one COR.
The responsibilities of this position include application and interpretation of engineering requirements, conducting engineering studies surveys and investigations, developing designs and performing team engineering reviews.

The Architectural support services required include but are not limited to :
Independently applies seasoned professional technical knowledge, experience and subject matter expertise to ensure projects of varying sizes, scopes and complexities are designed and constructed consistent with established trade standards and practices;
Develop conceptual designs and diagrammatic sketches for multiple facility types from customer requirements. Perform all necessary planning, scheduling and coordination necessary to assure that the designs are completed within scope, schedule and budget;
Develops in-house executed deliverables, including but not limited to, Scopes of Work (SOW), Independent Government Estimate (IGE), Design-
Build Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Design Bid Build documents (full plans and specifications) for projects executed by construction contractors.
Perform necessary calculations, develop possible alternatives, and present findings and alternatives in written reports and meetings with customers.
Implements and enforces all applicable Codes and Standards, including but not limited to NAVFAC Facilities Criteria (FCs), DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFCs), International Building Code (IBC), Whole Building Design Guide and Host Nation (HN) Codes, Norms and Laws.
Coordinate administrative and technical requirements with local, host country or other authorities when necessary, obtaining required approval actions.
Identify areas of special concern pertaining to the specific projects, such as permits, clearances, energy conservation, economic analysis, life safety and handicap accessibility criteria
Provide draft project scopes and cost estimates for A&E and construction contract for government consideration.
Provide technical review of design deliverables prepared by the A&E including RFPs, IGEs, plans and specifications, coordinate review of other Government reviewers, for content and completeness, and monitor progress of design reviews and adherence to schedules.
Provide written review comments for government official consideration. Review to ensure that systems are designed in accordance with the latest standard engineering and construction practices and comply with all applicable codes / norms / laws.
Performs interdisciplinary coordination and cross-checks of A&E and in-house executed designs to ensure compliance with Host Nation quality assurance metrics and reduce risk of cost and schedule growth to the government.
Deliver all written and verbal correspondences utilizing the English language.
Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited or Government recognized college or university; or have a valid National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) or equivalent registration.
Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent foreign accreditation organization.

Knowledge of office automation systems in order that several types of software such as Microsoft Office may be used for various office needs such as graphs, tables, and charts.
Knowledge of management and analysis techniques to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems.
Apply fundamental architectural concepts, terminology, units of measurement (both metric and US), and their inter-relationship common to all branches of architecture, engineering, project management and financial management.
Knowledge of critical thinking skills, mathematics, and architectural engineering design.
High proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD and discipline specific design softwares.
Working knowledge of Italian Host Nation Codes, Norms and Laws.
